ContentStrategy
Most content fails quietly. Not because the writing is bad — because nobody decided what it was for. I build topic architecture, keyword maps and editorial plans that give every page a reason to exist, and every article a reason to rank.
Deliverables, not slide decks.
Every engagement produces artefacts your team can actually use.
Content inventory and audit
Every existing page reviewed u2014 traffic, rankings, conversions, cannibalization, and whether it earns its place. You find out which pages to keep, consolidate, rewrite or remove before a single new piece gets commissioned.
Topic architecture and keyword map
The full topical model: pillar pages, supporting content, question clusters, commercial intent layers. Every keyword mapped to a single page, with priority order and target intent.
Editorial roadmap
A quarterly publishing plan in priority order. Each piece has a target keyword, intent, purpose, word count target, internal link sources, and expected outcome u2014 so the plan is a working document, not a wish list.
Writer-ready content briefs
Every brief includes: target reader, business objective, angle, structure, key points, entities, internal links, external sources to consider, and success criteria. Writers stop guessing and start producing on-strategy work.
How a content strategy engagement runs.
Inventory
Full audit of what exists. What's ranking, what's not, what overlaps, what's dead weight. The starting point matters more than the ambition of the plan.
Model the topic
Build the topical map for your business u2014 pillars, clusters, questions, commercial layers u2014 and map each one to a specific page. No keyword goes unmapped.
Prioritise
Which pieces will move the business fastest? Which are foundation work that pays off later? The roadmap is sequenced so the first thirty days produce visible results.
Brief and support
Every piece gets a brief. Writers work from a document that removes ambiguity u2014 and you stop paying for rewrites of off-strategy content.
Review and refine
Monthly review of what's ranking, what's not, and what's surprising. The roadmap adjusts as evidence comes in u2014 because content strategy that doesn't learn from its own results isn't strategy.
Questions worth answering.
Do you write the content too, or just the strategy?
I write the strategy and the briefs. Content production is handled by your team, a freelance writer you already work with, or writers I can recommend. If you'd like me to handle production directly, that's possible for a limited scope u2014 usually pillar pages and commercial landing pages where the writing quality matters most.
How long before content starts ranking?
Realistically, three to six months for new content to show meaningful organic movement, and six to twelve months before it becomes a compounding channel. Anyone promising faster is either targeting very low-competition keywords or guessing. The work is worth it, but it isn't fast.
Should we use AI for writing?
AI is useful for research, outlines, first drafts and repurposing. It's not good enough yet for the pieces that carry your brand u2014 pillar pages, commercial content, anything a customer is going to make a decision with. My briefs are written so a human writer can produce a genuine article quickly, or so AI-assisted drafting stays on-strategy.
Have a content problem worth solving?
Bring a rough idea of what you've published or what you're planning. I'll tell you what I'd do first — and where content would actually move the needle.
